ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- At Tuesday’s Brown County Commission Meeting, the commission provided their weekly update on the Richmond Dam project.  The focus was on the fire that took place last Friday near the bridge.

Brown County Emergency Manager, Scott Meints was at the scene last Friday and described what happen to the commission.

Meints informed the commission about when they got word about the fire.

Once the fire was maintained, it was determined to let the tanker burned itself out.

That was completed by about 5:30 pm that afternoon.  Meints informed the commission that Journey responsible had been notified and took the next steps to assess the damages if any done to the environment.

Meints also told the commission the investigation is still ongoing but was informed that this appeared to be accidential.

Meints also told the commission about damages done to the tanker, truck, and the pumps used to drain the lake.

No injuries were reported and it appears the houses near the bridge didn’t sustain any damage.
