ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Brown County Commission heard from personnel from the Brown County Landfill about the bids received last week for the construction of Cell #5.

The lowest bid was from Foothill Contracting at about 1.8 million dollars but that had to be withdrawn.  They recommended the second lowest bid from Midland Contracting.

Brown County Landfill Manager Mike Scott told the commission the bid was still below the engineer’s estimate at about 3.1 million dollars.

The County Commission approved the bid of Midland Contracting based out of Huron.

Also in the same meeting, Mike Scott also requested to waive fees for the upcoming spring residential cleanup.

The Brown County Commission also approved that request.
