Brown County receive five year plan on their highway projects

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- At Tuesday’s Brown County Commission meeting, the commission receive the five year Highway plan from Brown County Superintendent Dirk Rogers.

Brown County Commissioner Duane Sutton detail why the report is required.

Rogers unveil those plans at the meeting.

2025:(Estimated cost at around $15 million)

Rogers talks about the asphalt work planned for which they will hear bids on by the end of this year.

Rogers talks about other asphalt work that the county itself must pay for.

Rogers also address bridge work planned for next year.

2026:(Estimated at over $6 million)

Rogers talks about asphalt work planned for that year.

Rogers also address roads planned for microsurfacing.

2027:(Estimated at about $3.75 million)

Rogers talks asphalt work planned for this year.

Roads they are looking at are County Roads 18, 21, & 11.

Rogers discuss microsurfacing for that year.

Rogers plan for about 22 miles of microsurfacing on Brown County Roads 16 & 13.

2028:(Estimated almost $5 million)

Rogers notes a lot of this and 2029 is rough estimates.  He projects for now about 30 miles of roads to overlay.

Rogers also address plans for microsurfacing Brown County 14.

2029:(Estimated at over $24 million)

This is likely will be changing as we get closer to that year.

Highways impacted that years are Brown County Roads 11, 18, 9, & 20.

Rogers has bridge work scheduled for that year.

Next step is to bring those plans to the Department of Transportation Office in Pierre later this month.
