Brown County Republicans to hold Central Committee Meeting and RNC Delegate Caucus Monday, April 22, 2024

ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release) — The Brown County Republicans will hold the regular business meeting of the Brown County Republican Central Committee at the Brown Country Courthouse’s basement meeting room on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. Pizza will be provided for Central Committee members in attendance.

Only confirmed credentialed members of the Brown County Republican Central Committee will hold voting/speaking rights at this meeting.

Following the County Central Committee meeting, the Brown County Republicans will hold its caucus to elect three delegates to the regional round of the delegate selection process for the Republican National Convention.

All Registered Republicans residing in Brown County are eligible to attend, be nominated, and welcome to participate in electing the three people from Brown County who will advance to the next steps of being one of South Dakota’s delegates to the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, WI, in July.  Candidates will be nominated from the floor; individuals can nominate themselves by expressing an intent to run.

The three elected from Brown County will advance to the Regional Caucus, which comprises Jerald, Roberts, Marshall, Day, Brown, Spink, Beadle, Hand, Hyde, Faulk, Edmunds, McPherson, Potter, and Walworth counties. From there, the elected will advance to the state delegate selection and ultimately be designated either a delegate or alternate to the National Republican Convention, tasked with officially selecting the Republican presidential candidate in the 2024 Presidential election.

Again, the delegate selection process is open to all registered Republicans; any registered Republican is eligible to run to be a delegate to the RNC, and any registered Republican can vote in their county caucus to elect their RNC delegates on the county level. Those wishing to participate in the Brown County Caucus must be Brown County residents and active registered Republicans.
