PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota legislators have only four days left in the session to wrap up business for 2020.
One of the major outstanding issues is the budget. Senate Minority Leader Troy Heinert of Mission says they are still focused on increased funding for schools.
Heinert says they do agree with Governor Kristi Noem on funding priorities.
Heinert says they are pushing the Appropriations Committee to use higher revenue estimates from the Legislative Research Council.
The budget is usually the final bill passed before legislators adjourn. They will return for one final day on March 12.
