ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Brown County Emergency Manager Scott Meints announced at the County Commission meeting Tuesday that he wanted to implement a burn ban in effect effective immediately.

Meints talks about the fire that took place in Westport on Monday.

Columbia Fire Chief Cory Mitchell was at the scene in Westport.

Brown County Assistant District Attorney, Ross Aldentaler inform the commission about guidelines coming from the National Weather Service office regarding fire danger.

Commissioner Duane Sutton asked Scott Meints if the guidelines have been reached.

The burn ban was voted on unanimously and is now in effect until further notice.
