Business index in solid growth range

OMAHA, Neb. (WNAX) – The June Creighton University Mid-America Business Conditions Index, a leading economic indicator for the nine-state region stretching from Minnesota and the Dakotas to Arkansas, expanded to a solid reading signaling positive growth for the region over the next three to six months.

Ernie Goss, director of Creighton University’s Economic Forecasting Group says they are still seeing good growth.

Goss says job numbers are still pretty solid.

Goss says the wholesale inflation gauge for the month indicated modest upward pressure.

Goss says looking ahead six months, economic optimism, as captured by the June Business Confidence Index, advanced to 59.1 from May’s 54.5.
