WALL, S.D.(KBHB) – A Monday night fire in Wall has destroyed the Cactus Cafe and Lounge on the town’s Main Street.

The Wall Fire Department says they were dispatched to the business and found a free burning fire with a heavy smoke condition. The fire was extending into the roof assembly and they immediately struck a second alarm. Due to the nature of the fire and amount of neighboring structures, the fire went to multiple alarms.

Video being shared on social media showed the building engulfed by fire.

Fire crews from around the area battled the blaze through the night, working diligently to keep it from spreading to adjacent businesses.

A ladder truck was brought in from Ellsworth Air Force Base to help fight the fire from above.

It’s anticipated fire crews will remain on scene today to watch for hot spots as an investigation gets underway to determine its cause.

No injuries were reported and the Black Hills Fire Chaplains Association is assisting the occupants.
