PIERRE, S.D. (Press Release) – The Increase Community Services and Caregiver Supports Task Force, chaired by Representative Tim Reed (R-Brookings), will hold its first meeting on Friday, July 19, 2019, beginning at 10 a.m. (CT) in Room 413 of the State Capitol in Pierre, South Dakota.
The meeting agenda includes reviews of the role of mental health centers with housing and the role of the Department of Social Services in community services. There is also time reserved for public testimony. The task force was created through the passage of Senate Concurrent Resolution 2 by the 2019 Legislature. The task force was established to increase the capacity for transitional housing and residential services in communities to keep individuals closer to home, and to develop caregiver supports.
The Task Force members are Representative Tim Reed, Chair; Senator Wayne Steinhauer (R-Hartford), Vice Chair; Representative Tina Mulally (R-Rapid City), Representative Carl Perry (R-Aberdeen), Senator Red Dawn Foster (DPine Ridge), Jesse Bailey (Yankton), Colleen Casavan (Spearfish), Wendy Giebink (Sioux Falls), Amy Iversen-Pollreisz (Pierre), Anne Kelly (Atlanta, GA), Brandy Rhead (Rapid City), and Pam Vanmeeteren (Yankton).
