Casper Inks Two More to the Pitch

Aberdeen, SD (NSUWolves.com) – Northern State University head coach Bob Casper announced a pair of additions to his 2024 roster today with the signings of Greta Brooks (Forest Lake, Minn.) and Deshani Peters (Aberdeen, S.D.). The pair will join the Northern State roster in the fall of 2024.
Greta Brooks – Defender, Forest Lake, Minn. / Forest Lake HS
Greta Brooks is a 5-foot-6 defender out of Forest Lake High School. She was a 5-year starter for the Rangers under the direction of head coach Manny Cobo. Brooks earned all-conference accolades in her final two prep seasons and was the team’s MVP in 2022. In addition, she is a member of the Saint Croix 05/06 Premier who won the 2023 Minnesota Cup. She is the daughter of Brian Nanette Brooks.
Casper’s Thoughts: “Greta is a player who has developed quite a bit over her career and has really shown a great work ethic. She has set high goals for herself, and her diligent work rate is something that really stood out to me. She has great ball winning abilities and will be an asset in the organization of our defense. Greta is someone who also believes in being a team player which will fit into our team dynamic very well. Our backline players and goalkeepers have had great working relationships, so Greta is going to seamlessly fit in with this group.”
Deshani Peters – Forward, Aberdeen, S.D. / Central HS
Deshani Peters is a 5-foot-4 forward out of Aberdeen Central High School. She was a 4-year stater for the Golden Eagles under the direction of head coach Merle Aske. As a prep, Peters tallied over 50 goals and 30 assists. She was a 3-time All-ESD selection and 3-time SDHSSCA All-State honoree. Central placed second and third at the South Dakota State Tournament in her final two seasons. In addition, she is a member of the South Dakota United program out of Pierre. She is the daughter of Terri Trauger and Zamani Peters.
Casper’s Thoughts: “Having the chance to see Deshani play for the past three seasons has shown that she is a creative player who can have a positive impact on any game. She has good attacking vision and brings a great balance of passing and finishing ability. One characteristic that stood out to me in the recruitment process was that Deshani was looking for a good environment to push her development. We thrive off having a competitive environment, and she will work hard to uphold that tradition. Lastly, she has great experience in a variety of attacking roles which will complement our team well.”
