Cement shortage could impact highway construction in the state

PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- A shortage of cement could have an impact on highway construction in South Dakota.

State Department of Transportation Operations Manager Craig Smith told the Transportation Board at their meeting last week what they are hearing.

Smith says they aren’t yet sure how the cement will be allocated.

Smith says there are some supply disruptions.

The major concrete project this year is on I-90 between Hartford and Humboldt.
