YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The U.S. Census Bureau is ramping up for next year’s count of everyone who lives in the United States.

Yankton Community and Economic Development Director Dave Mingo says an accurate report is vital to all states, counties and cities.

Mingo says he hopes people will take the time to fill out the census forms.

The Yankton City Commission is coordinating a “Complete Count Committee.” Mingo says that should help reassure people about the process.

The official “Census Day” will be next April 1.
