PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The Study Committee on Juvenile Justice of the South Dakota legislature held its first meeting Thursday in Pierre.

Committee Chair, Representative Caleb Finck of Tripp, laid out his vision for the study.

Finck says he wants the meetings to be productive.

Finck says he wants subgroups working on different topics.

Committee members heard from law enforcement, representatives of the judicial system, and school superintendents.
