ABERDEEN, S.D. (Hub City Radio)-

The Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce’s Chamber Connections Series continued Thursday at the K.O.Lee Public Library.

Feature speaker was Brown County Fair Manager Rachel Kippley.  She updated what’s happening with the Fair and the Fairgrounds.

Kippley estimated how many people go to the Brown County Fair on a yearly basis.

Kippley talked about the perks associated with the Brown County Fair.

Kippley looked ahead to 2027 and announced the Demolition Derby is coming back for the first time since 2018.

One reason there are no fees to attend the fair is all the volunteers roughly about a thousand that helped before, during, and after the fair.  Kippley talked about how they look to try to get those willing to help out.

Kippley also talked about capitol improvement projects they are looking into to.

They are also looking at work on the grandstands for the next five years.

Kippley also discussed the upcoming Hall of Fame banquet coming up in April of next year.

You can submit applications online at www.browncountysdfair.com.  Next year’s fair will take place from August 16th through the 22nd.  The theme for 2027 is Where Everybody Knows Your Name.
