PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – A ballot committee has been formed in South Dakota to oppose an amendment on the November ballot that would legalize recreational marijuana.
Dave Owen, President of the state Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will head up the “No Way on Amendment A” committee.
Owen says other states have gone down this road with mixed results.
Owen says businesses are concerned about the impacts to their potential workforce.
Owen says they will not take a position on IM-26, which is also on the ballot and would allow the use of medicinal marijuana.
