MURDO, S.D.(KCCR)- A Murdo restaurant and it’s Big Al Burger is a finalist for the best hamburger in South Dakota. The Big Al Burger from the Circle E Drive-in in Murdo joins burgers from restaurants in Sioux Falls, Summerset, Webster and Deadwood as finalists.
An honorable mention is going to the Baker’s Bakery and Cafe in Custer for the Mike’s Burger. The nomination as one of the Top Five burgers in South Dakota comes from a contest held by the South Dakota Beef Industry Board.

In May, during Beef Month, the Beef Industry Board held the So Dak Best Burger campaign. Nominations were accepted from May 1st to June 16th.
The So Dak Best Burger Top Five will be anonymously judged from now until July 21st with the So Dak Best Burger being announced on August 1st.
The contest was designed to highlight not only South Dakota restaurants but the farmers and ranchers who work hard to produce high-quality beef.
To taste one of the best burgers in the state, the Circle E Drive-in is located at 212 Kennedy Avenue in Murdo, a block and a half north of the Interstate 90 192 Exit.
