Cities looking for clarification on rules to apply for housing infrastructure grants & loans

YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- Development agencies across the state are waiting for clarification on rules needed to apply for up to two hundred million dollars in housing infrastructure grants and loans.

Those dollars will be handled by South Dakota Housing.

Yankton Thrive C.E.O. Nancy Wenande says the rules comment period is underway.

Wenande says some of the limits in the proposed rules are not workable.

Wenande says these dollars are only for underground work, not for housing.

Wenande says the rules limit grants at two million dollars for each project.

About sixty million dollars is designated for Sioux Falls and Rapid City, with all other towns and cities competing for the rest.
