Citizen raise concern about storm water system at Rolling Hills

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- At Monday night Aberdeen City Council meeting, Bill Bowen, a citizen that resides at Rolling Hills on the northwest part of the city address concern about the storm water system.

Bowen discuss what he pays each month for a service that he feels is not being provided by the city.

Bowen showed the council pictures from some of the street that were flooded dating back to 2022. Bowen asked why the government is charging for something they’re not doing.

Bowen questioned the council about charging for plats.

Bowen explains the plan was to have the water runoff to a pond & that the golf course there would use it to irrigate.

Bowen offers different solutions to resolve this.  The first one deals with a new pipe to lead them to the pond.

The other is taking pipes from various inlet inside Rolling Hills.

Comments were made during the open forum so no action was taken, Deputy Mayor Alan Johnson said the city will be looking into the matter.
