City issues warning for residents along Moccasin Creek

ABERDEEN, S.D. (APD Facebook post) – The City of Aberdeen is issuing the following citywide warning for residents along Moccasin Creek. Excessive snow melt is raising the Moccasin Creek to flood stage levels. Residents in areas that have historically experienced past flooding events along Moccasin Creek are advised to monitor and prepare for rising water levels.

For further updates listen to NOAA weather radio or your favorite local media. Motorists are also advised to be extra cautious. For your safety do not drive through flooded roadways. Turn around and find an alternate route. If needed, sandbags and sand are available at the Public Works Maintenance Complex at 902 3rd Ave. SW in Aberdeen at no cost to residents.
