City Manager Joe Gaa talks how the city tried to cleanup after the winter storm

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- At Monday night’s City Council meeting, City Manager Joe Gaa talked about how the strategy used by the city to deal with the winter storm that hit last week.

Gaa gave credit to the National Weather Service office here in Aberdeen for their coverage.

Gaa talks about the normal procedures that used after snow moves out of the region.

Gaa talks about the city sanding the emergency routes after the freezing drizzle & light snow that hit on Monday.

The city announced they would start the snow removal schedule beginning Thursday night.

The city was unable to complete downtown as scheduled. Gaa explains why.

Gaa runs down the rest of the snow removal schedule and credited the crews for their hard work doing this.

The city of Aberdeen received officially 11.3 inches of snow during the course of the storm event.
