City of Sioux Falls opens new public safety campus this past weekend

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- Emergency workers in the Sioux Falls region now have access to some of the most advanced training facilities you can find.

City and state officials opened the 55-million dollar public safety campus this weekend.

Governor Kristi Noem took a break from the Governor’s Pheasant hunt to recognize the importance of the new facilities.

Mayor Paul TenHaken says the facilities will provide training that matches the threats and concerns of today.

The upgraded fire training center will help prepare firefighters for taller structures such as those being built in the downtown area now.

Metro Communications is also a part of the new center.
