STURGIS, S.D.(KBHB) – The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is now less than a week from officially starting – although motorcycle enthusiasts have already been taking in the sights and sounds of the Black Hills.

Sturgis City Manager Daniel Ainslie says staffing is almost in place

The Rally officially begins Friday, August 6 with an opening ceremony that will include the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales.

Ainslie says they will keep the center of Main Street open Friday in order to give a the Clydesdale’s a clear path from Junction Avenue to Rally Point.

The opening ceremony begins at Noon.

The Rally this year runs from August 6 to August 15.

City leaders are anticipating a large crowd this year.
