YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- The Yankton City Commission held a work session before their meeting Monday night to talk about updates to their personnel policy handbook.

City Manager Amy Leon said they have been rewriting and updating some of their policies.

Leon says she is learning as they recruit younger workers that pay isn’t always the highest concern.

Leon says the culture of an organization is also important.

Leon says while they are still recruiting for new police officers, they have filled all the open positions left over from the pandemic.
