YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- The City of Yankton and the Federal Emergency Management Agency have been involved in discussions over a new area flood map for the last couple of years.

City Economic and Development Director Dave Mingo says they are getting close to the public process.

Mingo says they have had several rounds of talks.

Mingo says the city was most concerned with areas close to Marne Creek.

The flood map updates are part of a national process that FEMA has been implementing over the past few years.
