ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Civil Air Patrol, the official Auxiliary of the U.S Air Force, has returned to the Aberdeen area for the first time in almost fifteen years.  The Aberdeen Composite Squadron held their first meeting Thursday night at the Aberdeen Police Station.

Major Richard Rezac talks more about the return of the squadron came about.

Rezac talks about how often the squadron will meet in Aberdeen.  Rezac hopes to have it at a different location, preferably closer to the Aberdeen Airport.

Rezac talks about how they plan to recruit for this squadron going forward.

Rezac inform everyone that the program is not only limited to just those who wants to be pilots.

Vice Commander Lt. Col. Kevin Pegelow talks about the skills obtain as cadets can be applied to either military or civilian life going forward.

Pegelow talks about looking for more recruits to become leaders here in the Aberdeen region.

This squadron marks the eighth Civil Air Patrol squadron in the state of South Dakota.  They will meet on Thursday nights from 6:30pm to 8:30pm for now at the Aberdeen Police Department.
