Civil lawsuit challenging Tiffany Langer’s residency has been dismissed

ABERDEEN, S.D.(Aberdeen American News)- A civil lawsuit filed last year that challenged the residency of Aberdeen City Councilwoman Tiffany Langer has been dismissed.

The civil complaint was filed May 24 by David and Julie Shultis seeking a writ of prohibition. The complaint asserted that Langer moved from Aberdeen to Fargo and that she no longer qualifies to sit on the city council.

The challenge came at a time when Langer was dividing her time between Aberdeen and Fargo while her husband, Scott, was coach of the Fargo Force hockey team. Scott Langer had been coach for the Aberdeen Wings hockey team prior to coaching in Fargo and has since returned to coach for the Wings.

But, according to court paperwork dismissing the case at the end of December, David and Julie Schultis agreed to dismiss the case because they are satisfied Langer residency has been established in Aberdeen in the district she was elected to represent.
