Clayton says demographics of COVID infection pretty stable

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota has had over just under 65,000 confirmed cases of Covid-19 since tracking began this spring.

State Epidemiologist Dr. Josh Clayton says the demographics of the infection have been pretty stable.

Clayton says older people that get infected are more likely to end up in the hospital.

Clayton says the statistics show the infection is more deadly for older people.

Sixty hundred seven four people have died from the infection since the state started tracking it.
