KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WNAX) – The Climate Prediction Center has issued a La Nina watch, which predicts the Pacific Ocean surface will cool in the next six months.
Doug Kluck, Regional Climate Service Director for the National Weather Service in Kansas City, says the development is not certain.
Kluck says a La Nina can have impacts all across the country.
Kluck says the northern plains could see more rain and snow from a La Nina.
Kluck says observers will have a better idea of the strength of a possible La Nina by late fall into early winter.
