Climate services director says trend calling for wetter conditions than in past

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WNAX) – Last year stands out with record precipitation and flooding across much of the northern plains. Doug Kluck is the Central Region Climate Services Director for the National Weather Service in Kansas City.

Kluck says they don’t expect that mix of weather conditions again.

Kluck says the trend is clearly moving toward more precipitation and storm events.

The first flood outlooks for the region predict major flooding is likely in most of the river basins.
