Codington County 4-H honors Jodi Loehrer for 30 years of service

WATERTOWN, S.D.(KXLG)- 4-H is a National program, but for some, it might just be in their “blood.” This week is 4-H Achievement Days, a time for young 4-H participants to show off their hard work on projects and the coveted livestock shows. Thursday night’s premium livestock show auction had a special presentation celebrating Jodi Loehrer for 30 years of dedication to the Codington County 4-H program.

Loehrer was a teacher when her 4-H journey began, and she later resigned to give the 4-H program her full attention.

Joe Moes spoke at the presentation.

Watertown Mayor Ried Holien thanked the crowd for supporting the Watertown Community and spoke on the importance of the program.

He then presented a proclamation to Loehrer to commemorate her 30 years of dedication.

Loehrer was in 4-H herself, a Summer Assistant, Support Staff in the Office, and 20 years Program Advisor, among many other roles.

Loehrer children were present to honor her as well.

Loehrer spoke of gratitude.
