Codington County Commission approve MOU with Watertown School District

WATERTOWN, S.D.(KXLG)- The Codington County Commissioners approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Watertown School District to designate the Codington County Extension Complex as a potential emergency drop-off and pick-up location for students.

Codington County Facilities Manager Steve Molengraff presented the information to the commissioners.

Commissioner Lee Gabel inquired whether this plan was integrated into the county’s existing Emergency Management plan, and Commissioner Troy VanDusen confirmed with Molengraff.

The commissioners unanimously approved the MOU, authorizing the county to formally agree to the use of the Extension complex for this purpose.

Following the approval, the document will be finalized with signatures from both the county and the school district. According to the agenda documents, it is a five-year agreement, and either party may terminate within 60 days written notice.
