WATERTOWN, S.D.(KXLG)- The Codington County Board of Commissioners has formally initiated its annual financial audit for fiscal years 2023 and 2024. Representatives from the South Dakota Department of Legislative Audit (DLA) met with the Commissioners at the Tuesday morning meeting to outline the audit process.
Kasie Ingraham and Natalie Zirbel of DLA attended the meeting and presented the audit engagement letter to the Board.
Ingraham informed the Board that the audit cost is set at $94.00 per hour.
While acknowledging that the audit team included newer members, Ingram assured the Commissioners that billing would be consistent with past averages.
Commissioner Myron Johnson requested that a designated point of contact be identified to facilitate communication with the audit team.
The audit is a regularly scheduled biennial review for Codington County conducted by the South Dakota Department of Legislative Audit. Auditors are expected to present their findings at a future commission meeting. Brenda Hanten is the Auditor for Codington County.
