WATERTOWN, S.D.(KXLG)- The Codington County Commissioners have approved a bid for the rip rap repair project on Bridge 15-159-100, located on 164th Street (Hwy 6) over the Big Sioux River, just west of Dakota Sioux Casino.

Highway Superintendent Randy Falvey presented the bid to the Board, indicating that Basin Construction was the sole contractor to submit a bid.

Commissioner Gabel made a motion to approve the bid, which Commissioner VanDusen seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

Commissioner Myron Johnson asked Falvey about the funding of the project.

The Rip Rap Repair Project involves placing large stones or concrete chunks along the bridge’s embankments to prevent erosion and protect the structure from water damage.
