Columbia Care looking forward to selling marijuana in South Dakota

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Columbia Care already sells marijuana in 18 states and looks forward to opening for business in South Dakota.

Company Vice President, Adam Goers (pron: gores) says the vote to legalize in the deep-red state proves that sometimes the people are a little ahead of the politicians.

Goers says the company is “super excited” about the opportunity to sell cannabis products in a safe, legal and regulated manner. He says it means millions of dollars in additional tax revenue for South Dakota. The shops are called ‘Cannabis dispensaries’

He says Columbia Care shops are professional and good business neighbors.

Legal recreational and medical marijuana won’t take effect in South Dakota until July 1, 2021. Goers says that period is prudent so the state gets the process right.
