Commissioner of Economic Development says broadband expansion critical

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – Continued state support for broadband expansion will be critical this year.

Steve Westra, Commissioner of the Governors Office of Economic Development, made that point to the Joint Appropriations Committee Wednesday.

Westra says money the legislature authorized last year paid off.

Westra says legislators need to continue supporting the expansion.

The Governors request will be considered with the overall budget bill.
