YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – Several South Dakota legislative interim committees are dealing with segments of mental health services this year.
One of those is titled: “Redefine Acute Mental Health Hospitalizations.”
Committee member, Senator Craig Kennedy of Yankton says it is a targeted topic.
The committee met for the first time last week and Kennedy said they heard about issues with hearings and crisis commitments to the Human Services Center.
Kennedy says they want to make sure that the right services are available.
Kennedy says the plan is to fold their findings into the overall mental health plan that will move onto the 2020 legislature.
