OMAHA, N.E.(KELO)- Community Bankers in our region expect a recession in the new year.

That’s one of the findings of the Monthly Rural Mainstreet Index compiled by Creighton University.

Economist Ernie Goss says the Index is in negative growth territory for the fourth straight month.

Goss says farm exports declined by more than 14-billion dollars for the first ten months of the year.

That’s a drop of nearly 15-percent from last year.
