ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – While there will not be a Community Gardens Meeting this spring, there will be Community Gardens this summer.

The Aberdeen Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department has announced that plots can be reserved starting Monday, March 23.

Aaron Kiesz, City Forester, talked about the switch in plans.

He said that plenty of plots are available.

Plots are 1,200-square feet and cost $20 to rent for the season. A handful of 600 square-foot plots are available for $10.

Kiesz said the Parks and Rec Department prefers phone calls to make the process easier. Individuals can call the Parks and Rec Office at (605) 626-7015, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
