PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – The October Mid America business conditions survey found over three quarters of those contacted said they couldn’t find all the workers they needed.

Dave Owen, President of the South Dakota Chamber of Commerce and Industry, says that’s no surprise.

Some employers are raising pay to attract workers. Owen says that is becoming more common.

Owen says training programs need to adapt quickly.

South Dakotas unemployment rate dropped to four percent last month.
