YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – Drier weather and decreased flows on the Missouri River are allowing crews to catch up on maintenance.
Tom Curran, Manager at Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, says they have been able to get workers out on the spillway.
Curran says the flood of 2019 stressed the spillway gates.
Curran says they are now running water only through the powerhouse.
The spillway had some repairs after the massive flooding in 2011.
