Congress looking to try to avoid government shutdown

WASHINGTON, D.C.(KELO)- A stalemate in Congress has the nation headed to a government shutdown next week.

Congressman Dusty Johnson is holding out hope the shutdown can be avoided.

Congress hasn’t been able to come to an agreement on how to avoid it.

As that debate rages on, Congressman Dusty Johnson says this might be a great opportunity to take action on border security.

Border crossings reached record numbers again in August.
