STURGIS, S.D.(KBHB) – Five Vietnam veterans received a hero’s salute Monday from South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson.

At the Sturgis Veterans Club, Johnson presented five veterans their commemorative pin and the welcome home they didn’t get fifty years ago.

The veterans shared their stories with Johnson about how they were treated upon arriving home from their tour of duty. Johnson says he hears similar stories across the state at other pining ceremonies he’s done.

Johnson also presented one posthumous pin to the family member of a veteran at Monday’s ceremony.
