Congressman Johnson address agriculture issues

WASHINGTON, D.C.(HubCityRadio)- On Wednesday’s KSDN Midday Report, Congressman Dusty Johnson provided an update on agriculture related issues.

Over the past month, President Trump has issued assistance to Argentian in term of a twenty billion dollar bailout and last week looking to increase of imports.  Congressman Johnson expressed concerns how this will impact American ranchers.

Johnson acknowledge ranchers are doing ok but feels they can do much better.

Johnson express the importance now of MCOOL(Mandatory Country of Origin Labeling).

Last week a deal was reach between the U.S. and China involving retaliatory tariffs.  Part of the agreement is China to now purchase soybeans in the U.S.

Johnson feels the U.S. need to continue the pressure on China to follow through with the agreement.

China plan on purchasing close to 12 million metric ton of soybean by the end of the year and 25 million metric ton in years 2026-28.
