Congressman Johnson address government shutdown

WASHINGTON, D.C.(HubCityRadio)- The United States Senate is at a stalemate because Republican and Democrat party leaders in the Senate can’t reach a compromise on a continuing resolution to keep funding the government.

Congressman Dusty Johnson talks about how this has impact South Dakotans regardless of party affiliation.

The U.S. House has been in “District Work Period” since the shutdown began.  Congressman Johnson was asked whether the House can address some of the other bills that still needs to be done in the mean time.

Johnson talks about the pending CR which would have funded the government through November 21st likely needs to be extended.

Tuesday night was election night in places like Virginia, New Jersey, and New York City.  Democrats picked up impressive victories in those races and others.  Congressman Johnson discuss how this could impact the current government shutdown.

Johnson also talked about what he learned from the elections that he can apply for his campaign for Governor.

Johnson is one of three candidates to officially declare his candidacy for Governor of the state of South Dakota.
