Congressman Johnson address the baby formula shortage

WASHINGTON, D.C.(WNAX)- Baby formula supplies are running low in many parts of the country and Congress is now involved.

South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson says it’s a critical issue.

The FDA shut down an Abbott Labs plant in Michigan due to contamination problems.

Johnson says Congress has to have answers soon.

Johnson says the formula issue points out problems in the US food supply chain.

Abbott Labs says they hope to restart production at that plant in about two weeks.
