Congressman Johnson comment on current government shutdown

SOUTH DAKOTA(HubCityRadio)- Back on October 1st, the U.S. Senate were unable to approve the CR which would have kept the government open until November 21st.  Congressman Dusty Johnson reacted to the government currently being shutdown at this time.

The blame game is happening right now from both parties, Johnson discuss that blame lean toward the party in the minority.

The biggest concern right now in this shutdown is the status for health care for illegal or undocumented immigrants.

Government employed are either furloughed or working without pay(Essential personnel).  President Trump acknowledged that there is a chance some may not get their jobs when government is reopen.

Johnson is working on two bills dealing with shutdowns.  One is the Elimination Shutdown Act.

The other is a bill if a shutdown is happening that Congress people shouldn’t be paid.

Various reports are saying that the current shutdown is likely going to continue through the weekend.
