WATERTOWN, S.D.(KWAT)- Governor Noem has been critical of the federal government for what she says is a lack of funding for tribal law enforcement agencies on South Dakota’s nine Indian Reservations.
It’s an issue that also has the attention of Congressman Dusty Johnson.
Governor Noem is calling for a financial audit of each reservation to verify the need for more law
enforcement funding.
The governor says drug cartels have infiltrated the reservations, and people’s safety is at stake.
