WASHINGTON, D.C.(KELO)- With the opening of the 119th session of Congress, Representative Dusty Johnson is emerging as a key ally of newly-re-elected House Speaker Mike Johnson.

Dusty Johnson was in the inner ring of drumming up the votes Speaker Johnson needed to retain his post…going to conservative hold-outs on the basis of the issues they want to address.

Now, his focus is working on the Trump agenda as part of the Speaker’s team.

Johnson says one of the priorities is to get Congressional approval to extend tax cuts approved during the first Trump presidency.

The tax cuts approved in 2017 will expire unless they’re extended by Congressional action.
