WASHINGTON, D.C.(KELO)- Rumblings are growing louder in the U-S House leading up to Friday’s vote to elect the House Speaker.

Republicans are hoping to avoid a repeat of last year’s antics when it took five days to elect former Speaker Kevin McCarthy…who was dumped nine months later.

Then, it took 22 days to elect current Speaker Mike Johnson.

South Dakota Representative Dusty Johnson is hopeful to get the Speakership issue resolved so the House can get to work.
