Corn Growers focusing on property taxes

BRIDGEWATER, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota Corn Grower Association members want legislators to focus on property taxes in the 2021 session.

Incoming President, Bridgewater area farmer Scott Stahl, says property taxes is on their radar.

He says another area they’d like to work with state legislators on is developing a low carbon fuel standard that would help corn farmers capitalize on the corn they grow that’s turned into renewable fuel.

Stahl says not only do they want to work with state lawmakers on that issue but also see an opportunity to work with the incoming Biden administration.

Stahl takes over as South Dakota Corn Growers Association President on Jan. 1 and the State Legislative session gets underway on Jan. 12.
